Internet deprivation for one week, and what did I get?
7 books and 3 novellas, yeah, I devotedly read all the 10
stories. Soul Screamers.
Reading all ten of the books is like being through all of
Kaylee’s fights and craziness in the Netherworld. Reading all of them brought
me to a realm of emotions. I mean, I shed tears when all the characters
suffered their misfortunes. I cried for Sabine and her undying love for Nash,
for Nash and how he kept on believing that it’s Kaylee that he loves, for
Kaylee, for Emma, for Tod, for Sophie.
All stories have their own happy endings, and unlike other
books, which the endings were actually quite obvious but I still read them
anyway, the author Rachel Vincent for the Soul Screamers series is really a
true genius, and I believe is more genius than Stephanie Meyer of Twilight.
Forgive me Twilight fans! Her words are easy to understand that makes this
series achieve its goal to be a really fast-paced story. I also admire the way
she lets us visualize everything in our head through what she wrote about the
Netherworld. I never had any clue about maras, reapers, hellions, incubus and
other weirdness before I read this series.
And you know, this series isn’t just all about a couple of
teens fighting and dealing against hellions, this is way too deep that reading
it will make you believe you’re part of everything the story tells. I admire
her most because of how she planned the ending, I have always loved a book with
an ending which would give us an insight on how our beloved characters will be
years after.
I don’t know with you guys, but I never imagined myself
reading fantasy books except for Twilight and other zombie books. With Soul
Screamers, I think I just opened myself on a new possibility of reading a new
genre of books.
And now the question remains: why would the author, Rachel
Vincent know so many about the Netherworld, is she a hellion too? Haha.
